“Experiences of Addicts Returning to Life”

According to cinemadrame “Doubargi: Narratives of Addiction and Salvation” is a book that recounts the stories of individuals who spent significant years of their lives caught in the turmoil of addiction. They lost their life, family, and work, reached rock bottom, and ultimately, took the final step to return to life. It features ten stories of addiction and salvation, offering a chance to share in the world of those who had the courage to experience it. Although they sometimes stumbled, they did not fall; they were saved and later became saviors, helping those similar to themselves.

In the introduction to the book, Arish writes: “I have had the chance to spend two years engaging in hours of conversation, accompanying and socializing with those who have experienced addiction. Life and the opportunity to live in this world are too short and fleeting, and our choices are limited and delicate. However, I have lived each moment spent writing this book, and I believe it was worth it. I hope it is the same for the readers.”

The ten stories in the book include: “God Shows the Way,” “Phoenix in the Fire,” “The Bewitched Tailor,” “A Lifetime of Alienation,” “Let’s Play the Game Well,” “The Gatekeeper’s Child,” “Hello, I Am Matin, an Addict,” “When the Twin Towers Burned,” “The Miracle of Empty Hands,” and “Imam Hussein Saves.”

Teenagers, young adults, and families are the primary audience for “Doubargi.”
