Rebecca Romijn: Avengers: Doomsday Is Being Filmed Without a Complete Script

According to CinemaDrame news agency, Rebecca Romijn, who portrayed “Mystique” in the X-Men films, tells The Hollywood Reporter that she still doesn’t know whether filming on Avengers: Doomsday has wrapped, because “they’re still writing the script.”
The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actress, discussing the completion of her scenes for Avengers: Doomsday, says: “I’m not sure. The script isn’t finished yet. It’s been a lot of fun, but we still don’t know. Everyone’s being very cautious so that nothing leaks.”
Romijn gives no clear answer when asked whether she’s read the entire Doomsday script: “I can’t confirm or deny that I’ve read the whole script.” She adds that while she can’t reveal which actors she shared scenes with, the experience was “surreal.”
The 52-year-old actress continues: “Being with both veteran and new cast members was incredibly surreal. During filming, I kept having weird dreams — dreams about going back in time. It was all so strange, and my brain was trying to make sense of it. I played this character 25 years ago, 20 years ago. It was very surreal.”
Romijn last played the role in X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006, but appeared briefly in X-Men: First Class in 2011.
Marvel announced in March that several actors from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men universe — including Patrick Stewart as Professor X and James Marsden as Cyclops — will return for Doomsday.
The cast of Avengers: Doomsday includes Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Winston Duke as M’Baku.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026.
