The Legend of Aang: Steven Yeun Voices Zuko

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko confirmed in an interview with IGN at this year’s Comic-Con that Steven Yeun, the actor from The Walking Dead, will voice a character in Paramount and Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender film.
Paramount had confirmed back in March that Yeun had joined the cast, but the creators of Avatar revealed for the first time that he will voice the adult version of “Zuko.” Previously, some Avatar fans speculated that Yeun would play “Wan,” since he had voiced that character in three episodes of The Legend of Korra.
“Zuko” is the prince of the Fire Nation who is searching for Aang. Konietzko says,
“Steven Yeun was Avatar Wan. He played the first Avatar in The Legend of Korra. We enjoyed working with him and are glad he’s returning to this world.”
In this film, Yeun joins Dave Bautista as a villainous character, Eric Nam as “Aang,” Dani Kwan as “Toph,” Jessica Matten as “Katara,” and Roman Zaragoza as “Sokka.”
At this year’s Comic-Con, DiMartino and Konietzko also unveiled the first image from Avatar: Seven Havens, a new 2D animated series consisting of 26 episodes. The story follows twin earthbenders who, after a devastating disaster, discover that one of them is the new Avatar.
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender is currently scheduled for release on October 9, 2026.
