Steven Knight: James Bond 26 Will Be “Better, Stronger, and Bolder”

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has been chosen this week as the screenwriter for James Bond 26. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 5, Knight spoke about his plans to create a film that is “better, stronger, and bolder.”

The English writer, discussing the upcoming installment directed by Denis Villeneuve, said:
“It’s always been on my wish list, and to be involved is incredible—I can’t wait to get started. Having been a Bond fan for years, I hope I can create something that is both the same and different, and better, stronger, and bolder.”
Asked who he would like to see play James Bond, Knight replied:
“That’s a very, very good question, but I can’t answer it.”
Knight said that when Amy Pascal, one of the new Bond producers alongside David Heyman, approached him, he didn’t initially know why:
“I quickly realized what it was about and got very excited and hopeful. Then there’s the process… you attend a few meetings, discuss some ideas, and then you find out you’ve been accepted. I found out some time ago, but it was only announced last night—and it’s fantastic.”
Variety reports that Amazon is searching for a “British actor under 30” to play James Bond, with Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi currently among the candidates under consideration.
