Tim Burton’s Stop-Motion Short Film “The Tale of the Skull Tree” for Wednesday Season 2

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, along with the release of Part One of the second season of the series Wednesday, Netflix has also released a stop-motion short film entitled The Tale of the Skull Tree. Directed by Tim Burton, the film tells the story of a man whose ambitious genius ultimately leads to his ruin.

In the series, one of the characters tells a group of listeners:
“Once upon a time, there was a boy prodigy with a fragile heart. He spent his days designing extraordinary machines that he dreamed of building one day.”

The animation depicts a sickly child designing a mechanical heart to match his “brilliant mind.” After a successful heart surgery, the boy regains his life, but his new heart gradually turns him into a man obsessed with his projects—until he ultimately pays for his genius with his life.

Wednesday is a spin-off of The Addams Family, following the character Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Ortega, at Nevermore Academy, where she learns how to harness her supernatural abilities. Netflix has confirmed production of the show’s third season.

Part One of Season Two of Wednesday was released on August 6, with four new episodes set to premiere on September 3.
