‘Anyone But You’ Director Will Gluck to Team with Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner for One Night Only

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Will Gluck, the director of Anyone But You starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, is set to collaborate with Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner on his next film, One Night Only, for Universal Pictures. Deadline reports that the two actors will soon begin filming under Gluck’s direction. The film is scheduled for release on August 7, 2026.

Gluck is rewriting Travis Braun’s screenplay, which appeared on the Black List, though it remains unclear how closely his version will follow the original story. The initial draft centered on two strangers who, on the only night of the year when premarital sex is legal, must find a partner for themselves. Gluck will also produce through his Olive Bridge banner.

Following Anyone But You, Gluck considered multiple projects before choosing One Night Only. Known for elevating actors like Emma Stone, Sydney Sweeney, and Glen Powell to international stardom, Gluck may help propel Barbaro and Turner to greater fame.

Barbaro, fresh off an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of folk singer Joan Baez in James Mangold’s biopic A Complete Unknown, has joined Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial, where she will star opposite her real-life partner Andrew Garfield for Amazon MGM. She is also set to appear in Crime 101, directed by Bart Layton and co-starring Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Chris Hemsworth, and Payman Maadi.

Turner will soon be seen in Rose of Nevada, written and directed by Mark Jenkin and co-starring George MacKay, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival. He also stars in the A24 romantic comedy Eternity, directed by David Freyne and co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller, set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Additionally, he appears in Rosebush Prunning, directed by Karim Aïnouz.

Turner recently wrapped production on Apple TV+’s Neuromancer, an adaptation of William Gibson’s cyberpunk novel, and earlier this year appeared at the Sundance Film Festival in Hailey Gates’ Atropia.

Gluck’s previous credits include Friends with Benefits starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, and Easy A starring Emma Stone.
