Ratatouille 2 is in the Works

According to CinamaDrame News Agency, a sequel to the animated film “Ratatouille” is being made at Pixar Animation Studios. Jeff Sneider reported on his podcast this week that the sequel is in development, although representatives from Disney and Pixar have not yet commented on the claim.
Sneider, who has in recent years outpaced many reputable Hollywood publications, says the sequel is in its earliest stages of development. With the commercial struggles of most original Pixar films, including “Elio”, “Luca”, “Elemental”, and “Onward”, Disney has shifted towards producing sequels for its more popular franchises. For example, “Inside Out 2” grossed over $1.7 billion last year. The studio also has sequels for “Coco 2”, “Incredibles 3”, and “Toy Story 5” in development.
The original “Ratatouille” film, directed by Brad Bird, was released in 2007 and told the story of a chef rat. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 80th Academy Awards and was nominated for Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Original Screenplay.
Pete Docter, Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer, previously stated in an interview with Time that the idea of a live-action “Ratatouille” remake, and fans fantasizing about Josh O’Connor starring in it, bothered him: “I like to make films that are original and unique. Remaking them, personally, isn’t very appealing to me.”
