Release Date Announced for Andy Serkis’s Animated Film “Animal Farm”

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, Andy Serkis has assembled a star-studded cast for the voice acting in his animated adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novel “Animal Farm.” The voice cast will include Seth Rogen, Gaten Matarazzo, Steve Buscemi, Glenn Close, Laverne Cox, Kieran Culkin, Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons, Kathleen Turner, and Iman Vellani. Serkis will also voice one of the characters in addition to directing.
Orwell’s dystopian novella was published in 1945 and tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human owner in hopes of achieving equality, freedom, and happiness. This classic work was chosen as one of “Time” magazine’s top 100 English-language novels by 2005 and won a Hugo Award. The novel was adapted into a film in 1954 and a TV movie in 1999.
Nicholas Stoller wrote the screenplay for Serkis. This project, which was previously intended for Netflix, is being produced by Adam Nagle, Dave Rosenbaum, and Jonathan Cavendish.
The initial stages of “Animal Farm” production began in 2018. Aniventure was founded in 2014 and has produced animated features such as “Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank” in recent years.
Rogen, who plays a pig in “Animal Farm,” recently had the series “The Studio” on Apple TV+. He is known for films like “Superbad” and has voice acting experience in “Kung Fu Panda” and “Sausage Party.”
Matarazzo owes his fame to Netflix’s series “Stranger Things.” He has voiced characters in “My Father’s Dragon” and “The Angry Birds Movie 2,” and has appeared in Broadway shows like “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Les Misérables.”
Buscemi is known for works such as “Fargo,” “Reservoir Dogs,” “The Big Lebowski,” and the series “Boardwalk Empire,” and has voiced characters in “Monsters, Inc.” and “The Boss Baby.”
Glenn Close has eight Oscar nominations for films such as “Fatal Attraction” and “Dangerous Liaisons” and has received three Tony Awards.
Kieran Culkin recently received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the film “A Real Pain,” directed by Jesse, and won an Emmy for the series “Succession.”
Woody Harrelson has three Oscar nominations and the first season of HBO’s series “True Detective” on his resume, while Iman Vellani appeared in Disney+’s series “Ms. Marvel” and the film “The Marvels.” The animated film “Animal Farm,” directed by Andy Serkis, will be released on July 11.
