Jim Jarmusch’s “Father Mother Sister Brother” Confirmed for Venice Film Festival Premiere

According to cinemadrame news agency, Efe Cakarel, CEO of MUBI, confirmed during a Q&A session at the SXSW London festival that Jim Jarmusch’s film “Father Mother Sister Brother” will premiere in the competition section of the Venice Film Festival.

Father Mother Sister Brother” tells three separate stories about the relationships between adult children and their parents. The “Father” segment takes place in the northeastern United States, “Mother” is set in Ireland, and the “Sister Brother” section unfolds in Paris. The cast includes Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Indya Moore, and Luka Sabbat.

In another part of the session, Cakarel confirmed that MUBI has acquired “La grazia,” written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, and its premiere at the Venice Film Festival is also a possibility.

Toni Servillo, who has collaborated with Sorrentino on films such as “Loro,” “Il Divo,” “The Hand of God,” and “The Great Beauty” (which won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film), is featured in the film.

Kelly Reichardt’sThe Mastermind,” starring Josh O’Connor, was MUBI’s first independent cinematic project and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Cakarel further confirmed that MUBI is entering television production and has an exciting Japanese TV series in the works.
