“The Mud Hut” Ready for Release; A Romantic Narrative of Operation Mersad

According to cinemadrame news agency, the cinematic film “The Mud Hut” (Otāghak-e Geli), a romantic narrative of Operation Mersad, is set for public release after receiving its screening license from the Cinema Organization.

Directed by Mohammad Asgari and produced by Davood Sabouri, “The Mud Hut” is a joint product of the National Museum of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense and the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs. It offers a documentary-style look at Operation Mersad in 1988, depicting the resistance of the 27th Mohammad Rasulullah (PBUH) Division’s fighters against the invasion by the MKO terrorist group.

The film’s story follows a group of combatants who are dispatched to defend the residents of Shiyan village in Kurdistan Province, who have been caught in the MKO attack. The screenplay, written by Pedram Karimi, unfolds within a romantic and human context.

The Mud Hut” had a successful presence at the 41st Fajr International Film Festival, winning the Crystal Simorgh for the Special Jury Prize, Best Resistance Film, Best First Film, and the Special Arman Award (Tehran Mayor’s Special Award).

Actors such as Touradj Alvand, Anahita Afshar, Tino Salehi, Fereydoun Hamedi, Hadi Sheikh-ol-Eslami, Saeed Dashti, and Saeed Zarei have starred in this cinematic work.

With the screening license obtained, “The Mud Hut” is expected to be released soon in cinemas across the country.
