Amir Naderi Appointed Head of Golden Apricot Film Festival Jury in Armenia

According to cinemadrame News Agency, the 22nd Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan will host Amir Naderi as a special guest and head of the jury, alongside several films by other Iranian filmmakers.

Amir Naderi, the pioneering Iranian filmmaker, has been named an honorary guest and president of the Regional Competition jury at the 22nd Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan.

Amir Naderi, creator of the film “The Runner” (1984), is considered one of the pioneers of post-revolutionary Iranian cinema, with his name etched in the history of Iranian cinema alongside directors like Abbas Kiarostami, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, and Majid Majidi.

The Golden Apricot Film Festival in Yerevan will hold its 22nd edition from July 13th to 20th (July 22nd to 29th in the Iranian calendar) in the Armenian capital. It will feature screenings of Naderi’s films: “The Runner,” “Harmonica,” and “Waiting.”

Additionally, films by other Iranian filmmakers will also be screened at the festival, including “A Simple Accident” by Jafar Panahi, “Crowd” by Sahand Kabiri, the feature documentary “Tehran, An Unfinished History” by Saeed Nouri, and the feature documentary “Take Your Soul in Your Hand and Walk” directed by Sepideh Farsi.
