“Look Out”; Supergirl Movie Poster Unveiled
[Contains spoilers for the movie “Superman”]

According to cinemadrame News Agency, The first poster for the “Supergirl” movie, starring Milly Alcock, promises the return of the rogue superhero to the DC Universe. Filming for the project concluded in June and it’s set for release next summer. James Gunn unveiled this poster a week after the release of “Superman” and its $220 million box office haul.
The poster features a striking change to the classic “Look Up” slogan, now reading “Look Out.” By sharing this poster on social media, Gunn confirmed the film’s 2026 release.
“Supergirl,” directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, is based on Tom King’s comics and focuses on the character of Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin.
Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl’s parents, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll will also star in the film, produced by James Gunn.
James Gunn told Screen Rant this week that Supergirl in this film is a “slovenly” girl: “She has a completely different background than Superman. A very different background. [Superman] was raised well by two parents who loved him and were very healthy. But [Supergirl’s] background is very different. And she has differences compared to this relative of hers.”
Alcock had a brief role as Supergirl at the end of “Superman,” appearing to be drunk as she entered the “Fortress of Solitude.” Her key difference from Superman is that she remembers the destruction of Krypton. Superman was just a baby at the time, but Supergirl experienced the trauma of losing her family and planet.
“Supergirl” is set to be released on June 26, 2026.
