Michael Ward, Star of Eddington, Accused of Rape and Sexual Assault

According to CinemaDrame news agency, Michael Ward, the BAFTA-nominated Jamaican-born actor, is facing legal action over allegations of rape and sexual assault. According to the BBC, the 27-year-old Top Boy star has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The Metropolitan Police stated that they are supporting the woman who brought the allegations forward and recognize that the investigation may have “a serious impact on those who come forward.”
Ward, who was born in Jamaica, received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2020 and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his roles in the BBC series Small Axe in 2021 and the film Empire of Light in 2022.
With 1.2 million followers on Instagram, Ward also participated in last year’s charity football match Soccer Aid at Stamford Bridge. His latest film, Eddington, directed by Ari Aster and co-starring Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal, is currently playing in U.S. theaters.
