“And Just Like That” to Conclude with Season 3

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, And Just Like That—the revival of Sex and the City—will end with its third season. The series finale is set to air on August 14.

Michael Patrick King, the show’s writer, director, and showrunner, confirmed the news on social media hours ago. Expressing his gratitude to viewers, he said:

“While writing the final episode of season three, it became clear to me that perhaps this is the best place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to conclude this beloved series this year with a two-part finale, increasing the season’s episodes from 10 to 12.”

And Just Like That is a sequel to HBO’s Sex and the City, which aired for six seasons from 1998 to 2004, and follows the characters of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte—played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis—eleven years after the events of the original series, as their lives and relationships in their fifties become even more complex. HBO’s Sex and the City was created by Darren Star and based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell.

The cast of And Just Like That also includes Sara Ramirez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson, and Evan Handler.

Season one premiered in 2021, with Kim Cattrall initially declining to reprise her role as Samantha, though she made a brief, much-discussed appearance in season two. In subsequent episodes, the writers depicted her relationship with Carrie through text messages.
