Angel Salazar, the actor from the film Scarface, has passed away

According to cinemadrame, Ángel Salazar, the Cuban-American actor best known for his role in Scarface, passed away at the age of 68. His representative, Roger Paul, confirmed his death, stating that he passed away “in his sleep.”
Salazar had notable roles in Punchline (1988) alongside Tom Hanks, as well as in Scarface (1983) and Carlito’s Way (1993), both directed by Brian De Palma.
In Scarface, Salazar played the character “Chi-Chi,” a close friend of Tony Montana, portrayed by Al Pacino. Other actors in the film included Michelle Pfeiffer, F. Murray Abraham, Steven Bauer, and the late Robert Loggia and Mark Margolis.
Salazar had a career spanning five decades on television and 45 years in cinema, with one of his first roles in the 1979 film Boulevard Nights directed by Michael Pressman. Other notable works include Where the Buffalo Roam (1980), A Stranger Is Watching (1982), and TV series like Heart of the City and In Living Color.
Salazar was also a stand-up comedian and had several projects in progress before his death. American comedian Adam Hunter reacted to Salazar’s passing, writing on social media: “Rest in peace, my friend Ángel Salazar. We worked together a few months ago. A comedy legend.”
