Antony Starr Reacts to “Superman” Viewers Entering Cinemas Dressed as “Homelander”

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, Antony Starr, who plays Homelander in the superhero series “The Boys,” reacted to fans attending “Superman” screenings dressed as his character. The film, directed by James Gunn, recently premiered and, in addition to receiving positive reviews, grossed $21 million on its opening night.
As “Superman” began its theatrical run, a viral video circulated on social media showing a moviegoer entering the theater dressed as the villainous character Homelander. Starr reposted the video on Instagram, writing: “This really needs to be an example to everyone. More people need to show up dressed as rival characters. That’s a power move.”
Homelander is a sadistic and narcissistic character, the antithesis of Superman and Captain America, but shares many physical similarities with them. Starr had previously stated that Homelander is not a hero: “He was really glorified, people loved him. And that’s surreal. What I didn’t expect was for people to feel internal conflict over him, you know, and sympathize with this monster.”
In the “Superman” film, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan portray Superman and Lois Lane, respectively. Nicholas Hoult plays the supervillain Lex Luthor. Anthony Carrigan, star of the series “Barry,” plays the archaeologist Metamorpho. Skyler Gisondo is Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio is Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced is Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi is Mister Terrific, María Gabriela de Faria is The Engineer, Wendell Pierce is Daily Planet writer Perry White, and Nathan Fillion is Green Lantern.
