Asadollah Yekta, an old actor, is hospitalized due to an infection.

According to Cinemadrame, Mohammad Yekta, the son of this actor, stated in an interview with ISNA: “Last night, December 29, my father was hospitalized and is in the ICU due to a blood infection.”

He added that based on the doctors’ opinion, Asadollah Yekta will likely need to stay in the hospital for up to a week.

It had recently been reported that the actor was invited to act in a movie, and filming was scheduled to begin at the end of December.

One of the artist’s children had said to ISNA some time ago: “My father has been in front of the cinema camera for many years and is still eager to continue his work. Lack of work bothers him, and I hope he gets more offers to work in cinema.”

Asadollah Yekta, a cinema and television actor born in 1947, has a theater background and has appeared in over 90 films and several TV series.

Among his recent works are films like “Samurai in Berlin,” “Prisoners,” “Fourway Istanbul,” “Darkub,” “Whale Amber 2,” “Choking,” “Mahti Ti,” “Patrol 2,” “Scandal,” and “How Much Do You Charge to Cry?” He has worked with directors such as Dariush Mehrjui, Bahman Farmanara, Kamal Tabrizi, and Tahmineh Milani in films like “Hamon,” “The Scent of Camphor, the Fragrance of Jasmine,” “Look at the Sky Sometimes,” and “Kakadu.” He has also appeared in TV series like “Chagh o Laghar,” “Thousands of Eyes,” “Footballers,” “The Story of a Life,” and “Setayesh 3.”
