Asghar Semsarzadeh: “I Think I Played the Main Role / ‘Saddam’; A Different Experience”

According to cinemadrame news agency, Asghar Semsarzadeh described his role in this cinematic work as different from his other roles, and while praising the film’s director and producer, he stated: “I didn’t have such a prominent role in ‘Saddam,’ but the audience showed me so much affection that I feel like I played the main role.”
The Theater Family is Peculiar Towards Each Other
He referred to Reza Attaran’s support in this film and said: “Attaran is a sincere, humble, and honorable actor, because he comes from the theater family. The theater family is peculiar towards each other.”
Semsarzadeh referred to Reza Attaran as a prodigy and added: “I’ve had less experience working with young directors, but Pedram Pouramiri is extraordinary. Both his ideas and the producer of ‘Saddam‘ work so precisely that they were able to present such a work to the country’s cinema.”
The Role Reza Attaran Played in “Saddam” Was a Valuable Role
He continued: “Of course, Reza Attaran is also involved, as he has directed, made films, and played various roles. The role Reza Attaran played in ‘Saddam‘ was a valuable role that thrilled all audiences.”
Semsarzadeh, who had previously named “The Secret Network of Women” as one of his good works in cinema and television, called “Saddam” another work that, after a period away from cinema, managed to capture his attention.
He said: “In ‘Saddam,’ the director, producer, and Reza Attaran acted in harmony. Such cooperation should continue between young directors and producers, as today’s cinema needs such coordination among the younger generation.”
This veteran of cinema and television stated: “Pedram Pouramiri, who has a world of experience, is a director who takes a big risk making such films, and he does so out of understanding and insight because he is aware of the audience’s needs and today’s cinema.”
Semsarzadeh expressed hope that the film “Saddam” would sell well and that all involved cast and crew would achieve their goals.
The film “Saddam,” directed by Pedram Pouramiri, which premiered on May 7th, has grossed 69 billion Tomans after approximately three weeks. /IRNA
