Boomusi Hosts Fajr Film Festival / Call for Entries for the “Manifestation of National Will” Section Released

The Manifestation of National Will section of the 43rd Fajr Film Festival will be hosted by Boomusi Island at the end of February.

According to Cinemadrame, the call for entries for the Manifestation of National Will section of the 43rd Fajr Film Festival has been released with the aim of facilitating the participation of governmental and private institutions, ministries, and organizations. This section will take place at Boomusi Island at the end of February.

The call for entries states: “With the help of Almighty God, the Manifestation of National Will section of the 43rd Fajr Film Festival invites governmental and private organizations, ministries, and institutions to participate under the following conditions.”

• Organizations can award prizes to selected films according to their own priorities, based on the films accepted into the Iranian Cinema Competition section of the festival.
• The jury of each organization will consist of 3 cultural and artistic experts, with one of the judges being selected from among directors, actors, producers, teachers, critics, or other key technical professionals in cinema with relevant academic and artistic qualifications, along with two experts from the respective organization.
• It is necessary for the requesting institution to send a written request along with the details of their authorized representative and the resume (work experience) of the jury members to the festival’s secretariat. After the request, the festival will review the participation process and select a maximum of 15 organizations to be announced.
• Upon approval of the organization’s request, their confirmed participation will be considered as acceptance of the following conditions.
• Non-monetary awards will not be allowed under any circumstances.
• A payment of one billion rials for each selected film is required, which will be awarded to the selected work as a “prize” and will not be refundable to the requesting organization.
• During the award ceremony of the Manifestation of National Will section, which will be held separately with the presence of officials and organization leaders, the representative of the jury or the highest-ranking official of the organization will present the award, and the jury’s statements will be published only through the festival’s public relations in the media.

The final deadline for submitting requests is January 5, 2024, and this date will not be extended.

The 43rd Fajr Film Festival will be held this February, under the direction of Manoochehr Shahsavari.
