Brad Pitt’s F1 Breaks Records with $545 Million Box Office

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski, has surpassed $545 million at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing film of Brad Pitt’s career. Previously, World War Z (2013) held the record with $540 million. However, Pitt also had a cameo in Deadpool 2, which grossed over $785 million.
In addition, F1 has broken the $221 million record set by Ridley Scott’s Napoleon and the $158 million earned by Killers of the Flower Moon, making it the highest-grossing Apple Studios release to date.
In the film, the 61-year-old Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a young racer and become his teammate. Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, Kim Bodnia, and Tobias Menzies round out the cast. British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is both a producer and a member of the cast.
Other top-grossing Pitt films over the years include Mr. & Mrs. Smith ($478 million), Ocean’s Eleven ($450 million), and Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood ($377 million).
Variety reports that following F1’s record-breaking success, Apple has given the green light for a sequel.
