Cast Announced for Na Hong-jin’s Film Hope

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, the cast for Na Hong-jin’s film Hope has been announced. Variety confirmed the start of filming for the new movie by the director of The Wailing by publishing a cast photo.

The film features Korean actors Hwang Jung-min (The Wailing), Zo In-sung (Moving), and Hoyeon (Squid Game), as well as international stars Michael Fassbender (The Killer), Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Taylor Russell (Bones and All), and Cameron Britton (Mindhunter).

Hope is described as Na Hong-jin’s most ambitious project yet and will be a science fiction thriller. The story is set in the remote village of Hope Harbor, near a demilitarized zone (DMZ). When a tiger enters the area, chaos erupts in the village, but it soon develops into a much deeper and more terrifying mystery.

Swedish actress Vikander and her Irish husband Fassbender previously worked together in the 2017 film The Light Between Oceans. Hong Kyung-pyo, who previously shot Parasite, is the cinematographer for the project and is collaborating with Na again after The Wailing.

Hope is scheduled for release in summer 2026.
