Cate Blanchett, at the Venice Film Festival, commented on her controversial outfit at Cannes, saying, “Next time, I will go on the red carpet without clothes

According to cinemadrame, Cate Blanchett wore an outfit on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the film The Apprentice by Ali Abbasi that many believed to be a political statement, declaring her support for Palestine.
The Australian actress, during a press conference for the series Disclaimer by Alfonso Cuarón, held on the second day of the 81st Venice Film Festival, jokingly responded to the question of whether she had another surprise planned for the red carpet tonight by saying, “I’ll go naked.”
In other parts of the conference, Blanchett discussed the themes of Disclaimer, including the concept of shame, explaining that although society lacks clear shame, it should not be confused with guilt: “But shame and regret, and the lessons one can learn from them, are very powerful.”
In the seven-episode series, Blanchett plays Catherine Ravenscroft, a respected journalist and documentary filmmaker who owes her fame to exposing the hidden secrets of long-established institutions. When a novel by a writer played by Kevin Kline reaches Catherine, she discovers the horrifying truth that she is one of the key characters in a story she thought was buried long ago, a story that uncovers her most complicated secret—a secret she believed was only in her chest.
Cuarón continued in the press conference, saying that when writing the script, he envisioned Blanchett in the lead role: “Cate was already there. I was terrified she might say no; I was really terrified, because I had envisioned everything that way.”
Blanchett added that the long shooting process had worn many of the actors out: “We are still in the process of revitalization.”
Squid Game actress Hoyeon Jung plays an ambitious and hardworking character named Kim, Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee, known for The Power of the Dog, plays Blanchett’s son, Kelvin Klein, along with Leila George, Sacha Baron Cohen as Blanchett’s husband, and Louis Partridge also star in the series.
Disclaimer will premiere on Apple TV+ on October 11.
