Del Toro’s “Frankenstein”: First Look at Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s Monster

According to CinemaDrame news agency, The first images of Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s Monster in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming film “Frankenstein” have been unveiled by Vanity Fair. The role was initially set to be played by Andrew Garfield, but he ultimately exited the project due to the chaos caused by the actors’ strike.

Throughout the history of cinema, numerous actors have portrayed Frankenstein’s Monster, including Boris Karloff in the 1931 film “Frankenstein,” Glenn Strange in “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” (1948), Robert De Niro in “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” (1994), Aaron Eckhart in “I, Frankenstein” (2014), and Rory Kinnear in Showtime’s series “Penny Dreadful.”

In del Toro’s two-hour and twenty-nine-minute adaptation, Oscar Isaac stars as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, while Jacob Elordi takes on the role of the Monster. The cast also features Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, and Charles Dance.

In addition to directing, Guillermo del Toro has written the screenplay for “Frankenstein,” based on Mary Shelley’s classic novel. Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat, who previously collaborated with del Toro on “The Shape of Water,” will compose the film’s score.

Del Toro’s “Frankenstein” is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in November, after which it will be released on Netflix.
