Dr. Jalil Tajlil, a professor of Persian language and literature, passed away

According to Cinamadrame from the University of Tehran, Professor Jalil Tajlil, who dedicated his life to research, writing, translation, and educating thousands of students and enthusiasts of Persian language and culture, passed away today (Monday, September 2nd) at the age of 90, embarking on the final journey and eternal human destination.
He was one of the veteran professors of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran and had interactions with poets and literary figures of his time, especially Professor Shahriyar (1906–1988). In addition to teaching, researching, and writing, he held various responsibilities, including serving as the head of the Central Library and Document Center, the head of the Persian Language Department at the University of Tehran, and a member of the University of Tehran’s Research Council.
Professor Tajlil was also passionate about religious studies, and his love for knowledge led him to the seminary in Tabriz during his youth. Later, he enthusiastically entered the Faculty of Literature at the University of Tabriz to continue his studies. In the late 1960s, he joined the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran, where he learned from Tehran University professors and studied philosophy, logic, and grammar at the seminaries in Qom and Tehran.
Professor Tajlil was a member of various academic committees, including the Promotion Committee and the Specialized Committee of Tehran University, the Council for the Expansion of Universities in the country, the Specialized Committee on Arts and Architecture at Tehran University, the Faculty of Literature and Humanities Journal at Tehran University, and the Council for the Expansion of Persian Language and Literature abroad.
Some of his countless works include Asrar al-Balagha (authored), Meanings and Expression, Pun in Persian Literature, Raqshband-e-Sokhan, Literary Techniques and Devices, Al-Ghadir (translated), Me’yar al-Ash’ar by Khwaja Nasir al-Din Tusi (edited), and Modern Library Science in Islam.
He published numerous articles in prestigious national and international journals and participated in conferences such as The Imagery of Saeb Tabrizi’s Poetry, Imagery in Rumi’s Poetry, The Public Culture of Rumi’s Mathnawi, and The Era of Imagination and Image in Persian Poetry.
Among Professor Tajlil’s honors are receiving the first-class degree medal in Bachelor’s degree from the Ministry of Culture, a certificate of appreciation from the Minister of Culture and Higher Education, and a certificate for his membership in the International Journal of Persian Language and Literature. In 2006, this distinguished professor was named a Chohre-ye-Mandgar (a lasting figure).
