Dr. Phil After Endorsing Trump: ‘I’m Not Qualified to Speak on Politics’

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Dr. Phil McGraw has admitted that, after endorsing Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election and supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, he is not qualified to speak on political issues.
The Dr. Phil host told The New York Times in a recent interview: “I don’t think I’m qualified to talk about politics.”
The newspaper’s profile of the popular television host notes: “He says he still supports the rights of legal immigrants and the LGBTQ community, but he has lost some friends from his past life in Beverly Hills, California, where he owns a home.”
Over the past weekend, HBO comedian Bill Maher criticized Dr. Phil for working with the Trump administration. Maher said: “Why are you going on these ICE raids? I don’t get it. You’re the guy who’s spent years trying to bring families back together, to heal families that had been torn apart. But now you’re literally standing with people who are separating family members. Explain that.”
McGraw responded: “Well, that’s nonsense! If you arrest someone who’s a criminal citizen, or a drunk driver with a child in the back seat, do you not think those people are separating families right there on the spot?”
At a Trump campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in New York, Dr. Phil had described Trump as being “as tough as an old army boot” and said the former president did not need celebrity endorsements.
