Finn Wolfhard, “Stranger Things” Actor: The Canadian Government Is Stealing Indigenous Land

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Canadian actor Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in Netflix’s Stranger Things, said in a new interview with Variety that his country’s government has “stolen” Indigenous land and has treated Indigenous people cruelly.

“In my opinion, the extent to which the government has avoided consequences by deceiving so many Indigenous groups is incredible… They have to fight just to get paid for land the government has stolen,” Wolfhard said.

Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler on the hit series, added that although many celebrities stay silent on political issues, he is personally active but tries to keep his actions private: “But on the other hand, I know how it’s going to come across, because ‘everyone has a platform [to share their views],’ and ‘I should be more…’”

The 22-year-old actor left his sentence unfinished but revealed that he donates monthly to Ukraine. He also shared that he has been seeing a therapist to cope with anxiety.

In another part of the interview, Wolfhard reflected on the concept of death: “Death is very abstract to me—I don’t even know how to begin talking about it. I think about saying the wrong thing in social situations, doing the wrong thing, making a mistake in my career and letting people down.”
