First Image of Amanda Seyfried from Testament of Ann Lee Film Set
According to CinemaDrame news agency, the first image of Amanda Seyfried in the musical film “Testament of Ann Lee” has been unveiled following its selection for the Toronto Film Festival. Mona Fastvold, wife of Brady Corbet, wrote, directed, and produced “Ann Lee.” She previously directed the drama The World to Come.
This film will be “an epic legend” about Ann Lee, a religious leader and founder of the Shaker movement. “Mother Ann Lee” was born in England in 1736 and immigrated to New York in 1774 with a small group of followers. Dubbed the “female Christ,” she established one of the largest utopian communities in American history. Ann Lee and her followers’ method of worship was characterized by emotional hymns and dances.
“Ann Lee” marks Seyfried’s first musical film since Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in 2018. Les Misérables, released in 2010, is another musical film in her career.
Other cast members of the film include Thomasin McKenzie, Lewis Pullman, Christopher Abbott, Tim Blake Nelson, and Stacy Martin.
