First teaser for documentary series Mr. Scorsese
According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Apple TV+ has unveiled the teaser for the five-part documentary Mr. Scorsese, directed by Rebecca Miller. Scheduled to premiere in October, the series explores the works and achievements of the veteran American filmmaker.
Mr. Scorsese is based on previously unpublished conversations and interviews with Scorsese, his friends, family, and collaborators, including Daniel Day-Lewis, Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, Thelma Schoonmaker, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Jodie Foster, Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Jay Cocks, Rodrigo Prieto, his wife Helen Morris, and close friends from his childhood. The series shows how Scorsese’s varied personal experiences, from childhood to adulthood, have shaped his artistic vision.
Miller, known for works such as She Came to Me, examines Scorsese’s films Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, The Color of Money, Goodfellas, Casino, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman, and Killers of the Flower Moon. Scorsese’s own documentary credits include The Last Waltz and No Direction Home.
The daughter of Arthur Miller and renowned photographer Inge Morath, and the wife of Daniel Day-Lewis, Miller is a longtime collaborator of Scorsese and had full access to his personal archives for this project.
Mr. Scorsese will premiere on October 17.
