First Trailer for Marty Supreme

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the official trailer for Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie and starring Timothée Chalamet, has been released. Following Uncut Gems and Good Time, Safdie is once again collaborating with A24 and directing his first solo feature film since 2008.

Chalamet plays Marty Reisman, a table tennis champion who entered the sport through gambling. From 1946 to 2002, he won 22 championship titles and earned five bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships. At age 67, Reisman became the oldest competitor at the National Hardbat Championships and earned the nickname “The Wizard of Table Tennis.” Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, Sandra Bernhard, and Abel Ferrara also star in the film.

The trailer shows Chalamet on a hotel bed making a phone call to a film actress played by Gwyneth Paltrow. In another scene, Marty tells his lover, played by Odessa A’zion: “I have a mission, and if you think it’s a gift, you should know it’s not. I have a duty I must fulfill to the very end—and that duty requires sacrifice.”

Marty Supreme marks Paltrow’s first feature film role since Avengers: Endgame (2019). Safdie co-wrote the screenplay with Ronald Bronstein and is producing the project alongside Chalamet and Elara Pictures’ Eli Bush.

Cinematographer Darius Khondji has said the film will be “unlike” anything in recent years: “Josh has an incredible energy for filmmaking—unlike anyone else I’ve worked with. In every shot, he surprises you with what’s coming next. That’s how he works—constant inspiration and intuition. He takes the actors and the camera to places you don’t expect. It’s not always comfortable, but the result is something special.”

Marty Supreme will be released on December 25, 2025.
