First Trailer for Stephen Curry’s Animated Film GOAT

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, Sony Pictures Animation has unveiled the first trailer for the film GOAT (Greatest of All Time), featuring NBA star Stephen Curry as a voice actor. This marks Curry’s first experience voicing a character in a feature-length film.

The story centers on a goat named Will, voiced by Caleb McLaughlin (actor in “Stranger Things”), who dreams of becoming a star in “RuhRball.” The film’s other voice actors include Stephen Curry, Gabrielle Union, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Aaron Pierre, Jelly Roll, Bobby Lee, Jennifer Hudson, Patton Oswalt, and Ayesha Curry, Stephen Curry’s real-life wife.

The 37-year-old Curry, who plays a giraffe named Lenny Williamson, told People magazine: “I relate to the whole story of GOAT because so many parts of Will’s journey are similar to mine—being overlooked, underestimated, searching for opportunity, but at the same time finding confidence and uniqueness and realizing that is enough.” He added: “Obviously, the power of a team also matters. No matter what your profession is, you can’t accomplish something great without those around you.”

Regarding his voice acting experience, Curry said: “Recording is very different because you’re in your own world. You understand what you want to deliver with your voice and energy, but the only thing I underestimated about voice acting was how much your whole body is involved—you put your whole self into it.”

GOAT is set for release on February 13.
