Greenland: Migration to Be Released in January 2026

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the sequel to the film “Greenland,” titled “Greenland: Migration,” will be released on January 9, 2026. STX Studios has acquired the North American distribution rights for the sequel in a highly competitive deal worth $25 million, and has paid an additional $50 million for international distribution rights.
The first “Greenland” film told the story of a couple, played by Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin, who—facing the imminent approach of a massive object to Earth—must reach a shelter with their son in less than 48 hours. In the second installment, the family must search for a new home. Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, and William Abadie will also star in the sequel. The first film featured Hope Davis, Roger Dale Floyd, Scott Glenn, David Denman, and Holt McCallany.
The original “Greenland” was produced on a $35 million budget and grossed $52 million worldwide. It premiered on digital platforms in December 2020 and received a 78% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics.
“Greenland: Migration,” directed by Ric Roman Waugh, will premiere in 2026.
