Have we forgotten?
Sahabe Pooyan Mehr – Film Critic

According to a report by the Cinemadrame news agency, Sahabe Pooyan Mehr wrote in an exclusive note in support of the current process of the Fajr Film Festival: “Is it so easily forgotten that in past editions we faced such disgrace? Do we forget how they fed us low-quality works under the name of prestigious films, and we couldn’t say a word? Didn’t we see how incompetent people took charge and insulted women, artists, and deserving critics?
Let’s put aside the game; it’s not right for our biggest film festival to become a victim of the authoritarianism of a few incompetent individuals. In this difficult time that Iranian cinema is going through, shining through the darkness, the expectation is to support the removal of destroyers and give time to those qualified.
I voiced my criticism of the previous process of the festival loudly, but there was no intention of listening. So, the fact that the new managers have realized the wrong path and turned around indicates the emergence of rationality, and in my opinion, those responsible for the current situation should remain silent.”
