“In the Embrace of the Tree” is the best film at the Chennai Film Festival in India.

The feature film “In the Embrace of the Tree” has been named the Best Film at the Chennai Film Festival in India, continuing its international presence.
According to Cinemadrame, “In the Embrace of the Tree,” directed by Babak Lotfi Khajeh Pasha and produced by Sajad Nasrollahi Nasab and Babak Khajeh Pasha, won the Best Feature Film Award at the 22nd Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF).
The Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF), held in Chennai, India, is organized by the Cinema Association, the Foundation for the Appreciation of Indian Cinema, and supported by the Tamil Nadu Government, the Southern Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, and the Federation of Indian Films. The festival’s objectives include fostering cross-cultural understanding, promoting the art of cinema, and encouraging friendship and cooperation between people worldwide.
Over 100 international feature films from more than 60 countries competed in the festival.
The 22nd edition of the Chennai International Film Festival took place from December 12 to 19, 2023, equivalent to 22-29 Azar 1402 in the Iranian calendar.
In the Embrace of the Tree has been showcased at various international festivals and recently won the Special Jury Award at the Asian World Film Festival. The film was also selected as Iran’s official entry for the 2025 Oscars.
The international distribution of the film is handled by Sura International.
