“Jason Momoa” Will Star in Terry Gilliam’s Final Film

According to Cinemadrame, Terry Gilliam has confirmed at the Annecy Film Festival that The Carnival at the End of Days, starring Johnny Depp as “the Devil,” along with Adam Driver, Jeff Bridges, and Jason Momoa, will be his final film.

Gilliam mentioned that he is currently designing storyboards for The Carnival and that the coming weeks are “very decisive” for him: “This film might be my swan song. The reception at the Annecy Festival has encouraged me to continue. I realize that when young people stop me on the street to tell me how much my films have influenced them, I’m not past my prime.”

The 83-year-old filmmaker adds that the story of his latest project is set in a “fantastical world” and will be “the enemy of political correctness.” The film’s production is set to begin in January 2025.

Gilliam, who has faced difficulties securing funding for some of his recent films, previously told the French publication Mediapart that the budget for this film is around 30 million dollars. His last directorial effort was The Man Who Killed Don Quixote in 2018.
