Jeff Daniels: Trump Embodies All of America’s and Humanity’s Flaws

According to CinemaDrame news agency, This week, Jeff Daniels called Donald Trump “the embodiment of all of America’s flaws” in an interview with MSNBC. The 70-year-old actor criticized the uncivil behavior of politicians and expressed hope that Republicans would “lose a lot of money” over Trump’s return.

Speaking on Nicolle Wallace’s podcast, he said: “We’ve lost our sense of decency. We’ve lost our civilization, our respect for the rule of law. We’ve lost them. We’ve normalized verbal abuse through the internet. We’ve normalized bullying. Even though the woke generation tried to change that. But now it’s back.”

The star of The Newsroom and Dumb and Dumber continued: “We’ve thrown away integrity and character. No one has anything positive to say about politicians. We never really did. Go back to Mark Twain. But the ideal is that we choose the best among us, not the worst. [Trump] is not only the embodiment of all of America’s flaws, but of humanity’s flaws as well.”

In another part of the interview, Daniels compared Kamala Harris to Abraham Lincoln and said she could have led the country more effectively: “I still think about Kamala. That she could’ve been a good choice—I don’t care what anyone else says. She could’ve done what Lincoln did. Liz Cheney could’ve been her Secretary of State.” Daniels noted how Lincoln worked with his political rivals: “He surrounded himself with people who disagreed with him, not those who knelt and said: ‘Yes, raise the tariffs, sir. More, sir.’”
