Jimmy Kimmel: Democrats Have an “Off-Putting” Effect on People

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, American comedian Jimmy Kimmel criticized “repellent” liberals in a recent interview on Sarah Silverman’s podcast, saying they are driving people in his country away from the Democratic Party. Last Thursday, the two reflected on the first six months of Donald Trump’s second presidential term, agreeing that the Democratic Party currently lacks leadership.

Fox News reported that Silverman, at one point in the podcast, recalled how Joe Rogan — a Trump supporter during the election — faced heavy criticism whenever he questioned the president’s actions. She said that an “inclusive” party like the Democrats should not be “so intensely elitist.”

The Jimmy Kimmel Live host, however, defended the party, saying:

“Yeah. But the problem isn’t the party. The problem isn’t the majority. The problem is the loud voices that make people afraid to say what they believe and make you rethink a joke or whatever.”

He went on:

“A lot of what [Democrats] say is correct, but most of them are off-putting — they push people away. They say, ‘You’re not attractive. I don’t want to be around you.’ And I think if there’s one reason, that’s it.”

After Stephen Colbert was fired from CBS, Trump repeatedly claimed he had “heard” that Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon would be next to lose their jobs. Fellow comedian and Trump critic Jon Stewart had previously said he was unsure whether he would remain at Comedy Central.
