Julian McMahon, Actor from “Nip/Tuck” and “Fantastic Four,” Dies at 56 After Private Battle with Cancer

According to cinemadrame News Agency, Julian McMahon, best known for his roles in the series “Nip/Tuck,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” and the “Fantastic Four” films, has passed away at 56 after a private battle with cancer.
McMahon’s wife released a statement saying: “He loved life, his family, friends, work, and his fans. His heartfelt wish was to make others happy as much as possible.”
McMahon began his professional career as a model before transitioning to acting. In 1989, he joined the Australian daily soap opera “The Power, the Passion,” and in 1992, he made his cinematic debut opposite Elliott Gould in “Wet and Wild Summer!”

McMahon then moved to Hollywood, joining NBC’s soap opera “Another World” in 1993. He subsequently transitioned to primetime television, becoming a regular cast member in the same network’s crime series “Profiler,” which ran for four seasons.
His roles in “Charmed” and “Nip/Tuck,” Ryan Murphy’s plastic surgery drama that aired for six seasons on FX, brought him widespread recognition. His portrayal of “Dr. Christian Troy” in “Nip/Tuck” earned McMahon a Golden Globe nomination.
The success of “Nip/Tuck” led McMahon to join CBS’s “FBI: Most Wanted,” where he played “Jess LaCroix,” the leader of the FBI’s Most Wanted Unit, for three seasons.
His role as “Doctor Doom” in Tim Story’s “Fantastic Four” in 2005 and its sequel, “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” in 2007, brought him international fame. His other cinematic works included “RED,” “Paranoia,” “You’re Not You,” and “The Surfer” in 2024, opposite Nicolas Cage.
Nicolas Cage reacted to McMahon’s passing, calling him “one of the most talented” collaborators: “The scenes we shot in ‘The Surfer’ were some of my favorite moments of my career.”
McMahon’s final role was in Netflix’s crime-mystery series “The Residence.”
