Kevin Spacey Honored in Italy with the “Nations” Lifetime Achievement Award

According to Cinemadrame, Kevin Spacey will travel to the city of Taormina in southern Italy in the coming weeks to receive the honorary “Nations” Award. The actor, known for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, will also give a short performance at the city’s 4,000-seat theater.
This event is part of a cultural program and is unrelated to the Taormina Film Festival, which will be held from July 12 to 19. Spacey will receive the award while his ongoing battle with sexual assault allegations continues.
In 2022 and 2023, Spacey was acquitted of several charges in the UK and the US. However, in 2025, he will have to defend himself in a British court against allegations of sexually assaulting a man. Spacey has admitted to past inappropriate behavior but maintains that none of his actions were illegal.
In a previous interview with Piers Morgan, Spacey stated that he has “no money left” and had to sell his house in Baltimore to pay off millions of dollars in debts. “There were a few times when I thought about declaring bankruptcy, but we managed to avoid that, at least until today.”
The “Nations” Award has previously been given to Claudia Cardinale, F. Murray Abraham, Gérard Depardieu, Daniel Brühl, Abel Ferrara, and Vittorio Storaro before Spacey.
