Melanie Scrofano, Star of Wynonna Earp, Joins Spider-Man: Brand New Day

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Melanie Scrofano, known for the series Wynonna Earp, confirmed on Instagram that she will appear in Sony and Marvel’s film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Filming for this project has recently begun and is expected to continue through the fall.

Scrofano is best known for Wynonna Earp, her role as Dina Cypress in Syfy’s Revival, and Mrs. McMurray in Letterkenny. She also has acting credits in Saw VI (2009), Robocop (2014), and Ready or Not.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The screenplay is written by Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers.

In addition to Tom Holland, the return of Zendaya and Jacob Batalon has been confirmed. Sidi Sink and Lisa Colón-Zayas will appear in undisclosed roles. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and Michael Mando as Scorpion in this film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film after Fantastic Four: First Steps. Tom Holland was last seen as Spidey in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). After defeating several villains from parallel universes, Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, cast a spell that made the world forget Spider-Man’s identity.

Sony Pictures will release Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026 (9 Mordad 1405 in the Iranian calendar).
