According to cinemadrame news agency, the Iranian Association of Documentary Filmmakers has announced the minimum directing fees for documentary filmmakers for the year 1404 (which corresponds to March 2025 to March 2026). In its first official meeting of the new year, the Board of Directors of the Association of Documentary Filmmakers, considering the economic conditions, rising costs, and inflation affecting the country, which will also impact documentary film production costs, announced the minimum directing fees for documentary films as follows:
- Short Documentary (up to 30 minutes): 180,000,000 Tomans
- Medium-Length Documentary (up to 60 minutes): 400,000,000 Tomans
- Feature-Length Documentary (up to 90 minutes): 560,000,000 Tomans
The announced prices can vary by up to 20% depending on the type of documentary project (single film or series), genre, and difficulty of work.
Additionally, the announced wages, considering this year’s inflationary conditions, have been set as the minimum wage and will be updated next year based on new conditions.
Compliance with the stated terms is mandatory for all members of the guild from the date of this announcement and must be considered in all new contracts.
