Netflix Is Producing the Third Season of Wednesday

According to CinemaDrame news agency, A few weeks before the release of Wednesday season two, starring Jenna Ortega, Netflix announced it is producing the third season of the series. Hollywood Reporter has reported that besides the third season of this Tim Burton-produced and directed show, Netflix is also in early stages of developing a television spin-off.

Wednesday itself is a spin-off of The Addams Family and follows the character Wednesday Addams, played by Ortega, at Nevermore Academy, where she learns to harness her supernatural powers. The first season of Wednesday drew over 250 million viewers and received 12 Emmy nominations, including Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Ortega.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar will be showrunners for season two, and Tim Burton will return to direct four episodes. Steve Buscemi (The Big Lebowski), Billie Piper (Scoop), Ivy Templeton (Return to Silent Hill), Owen Pinder (Tiny Beautiful Things), Lady Gaga, and Nova Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime) are among the new cast members joining Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Mousa Mustafa, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Isaac Ordonez.

The first part of Wednesday season two will premiere on August 6, 2025.
