Pedro Pascal in Talks to Replace Oscar Isaac in Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, following his Emmy nomination and the release of Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pedro Pascal is in negotiations to join Searchlight Pictures’ Behemoth, written and directed by Tony Gilroy. Deadline reports that talks are progressing quickly.

No plot details have been disclosed, except that the film is described as a drama about a cellist. Production is set to begin this fall in Los Angeles, though no release date has been announced.

This summer, Pascal starred in three films: Celine Song’s Materialists, Ari Aster’s Eddington, and Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps. Earlier this year, he appeared in Season Two of The Last of Us. Materialists became A24’s third-highest opening weekend of all time, while Fantastic Four: First Steps delivered Marvel’s biggest opening weekend of 2025.

Pascal recently wrapped filming on Avengers: Doomsday and will reprise his role as Din Djarin in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Last year, he appeared in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II and Pedro Almodóvar’s A Strange Way of Life.

Gilroy recently concluded the second and final season of Andor for Disney+, which earned strong reviews and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
