Screenwriter Chosen for ‘Wonder Woman’ Reboot

According to CinemaDrame news agency, Anna Nogueira, writer of Supergirl, will pen the script for the Wonder Woman reboot for DC Studios. It was previously reported that Nogueira is also writing a live-action adaptation of Teen Titans for Warner Bros.

Nogueira joins Wonder Woman just as Superman crosses the $400 million mark at the box office. The film will mark the beginning of a new era in the “DC Universe,” produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Gunn has previously stated that the Wonder Woman project is a “priority” for DC, but he emphasized that it won’t move ahead faster than other projects: “No scene will be shot until we’re sure we have a great script.” A few weeks ago, he responded to rumors about Adria Arjona being cast as Wonder Woman, saying he only follows her on Instagram because they’ve worked together in the past.

Before Gunn’s arrival at DC Studios, Wonder Woman 3 with Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins was in development. Gadot first appeared in the role in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and went on to star in Wonder Woman (2016) directed by Jenkins, Justice League (2017), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023), and The Flash.

Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie, is set to be released in June 2026.
