“Silent City” is the new program of Cinema Online.
In line with the variety of films presented on Cinema Online, the feature film “Silent City” will begin its online screening this week.
According to Cinemadrame, quoting from the public relations office, “Silent City”, directed and written by Ahmad Bahrami, will start its online screening at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 25, 2023.
Ahmad Bahrami previously won the Horizons section award at the Venice Film Festival for his film “The Silent Plain” and recently completed his trilogy with the film “The Silent Man”. This trilogy was filmed in black and white.
“Silent City” has won the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the Best Film award at the Nostalgia Film Festival. This film was one of the main candidates for the Iranian film selection committee for the Oscars this year. Additionally, at the recent Hafez Awards, Ahmad Bahrami was awarded the special Kiarostami award for “Silent City”.
The plot summary of “Silent City” is as follows: Bamani, who has spent 10 years in prison for killing her husband, had her child taken by her husband’s family. After being temporarily released, she immediately searches for her son and goes to a car scrap yard where Abi, her husband’s brother, works. However, he claims to know nothing about the fate of her son.
