Statements by Kazem Hajirazad and Nahid Moslemi Coinciding with the Opening of the Play ‘To Ali, His Mother Once Said’

Kazem Hajirazad stated at the opening of the play ‘To Ali, His Mother Once Said’ that he is very happy that theater is still being discussed in these difficult times.

The play “To Ali, His Mother Once Said,” directed by Hooshmand Honarkar, began its run at Mehrab Theater with the presence of a group of artists and writers.

According to CinamaDrame News Agency, quoting the public relations of the play, Kazem Hajirazad, a theater, television, and cinema actor, said at the opening of this play: “I am very happy that in these difficult circumstances, theater is still being discussed, and there are individuals who dedicate their lives, wealth, and time to theater and train students. Mr. Honarkar is one of these individuals.”

He continued by noting that Honarkar began theater in his youth and was trained alongside Mostafa and Mahin Eskouee. He said: “He has worked for years in Stanislavski’s theater and has been alongside Mahin Eskouee for years, collaborating in the editing and publication of three volumes of Stanislavski’s scientific works translated by Ms. Eskouee. He was very close to Ms. Eskouee and her teachings, and this closeness must have played a role in his teachings to teenagers and young people.”

Nahid Moslemi, a theater, television, and cinema actress, also expressed her happiness about the staging of this play, saying: “I hope that we always remain connected like this and never separate.”

Shokrollah Goodarzi, a theater director, also pointed out that his penultimate work also emerged from a workshop, and Honarkar was also involved with the group, saying: “One of the things whose results we will definitely see in the future are these workshops, meaning something that doesn’t happen in universities. Alongside universities, a ‘private’ sector has emerged that establishes academies with grand titles and exploits students in various ways. However, this form of theater that happens here, which is committed, responsible, and based on scientific and professional belief, is very valuable in contrast to them, and I congratulate the director.”

He concluded his remarks by saying: “We have come to shape our dreams. I hope that Mr. Honarkar can realize the dreams of the children and students in these workshops and shape his own dreams.”

Honarkar also spoke about the process of forming the play “To Ali, His Mother Once Said,” saying: “This play is the result of six months of workshop training rehearsals, and these workshops and plays are planned to continue, and in the future, we will see other plays of this kind as the output of those classes and workshops. I also intend to bring a larger project to the stage with the presence of these teenagers, with the accompaniment of great figures like Nahid Moslemi and Kazem Hajirazad, as a continuation of these workshop plays.”

The ceremony was attended by artists and writers such as Nahid Moslemi, Kazem Hajirazad, Jamshid Jahan-zadeh, Farzaneh Neshatkhah, Shokrollah Goodarzi, Hamidreza Afshar, and others. Afterwards, the guests watched the play “To Ali, His Mother Once Said.”
