“Tehran Another View” at Karlovy Vary Festival; Another Iranian Film Unnamed for “Safety of Filmmakers”

According to cinemadrame news agency, the film “Tehran Another View” will be screened in the Special Screenings section of the 59th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic. Directed by Ali Behrad, the film stars Ali Shadman, Anahita Afshar, Ayda Mahiani, and Ali Mosaffa.
The Karlovy Vary Festival has stated that the name of another Iranian film, competing for the Crystal Globe, will not be announced to “ensure the safety of its creators.” The festival’s statement reads: “It was decided to postpone the announcement of this film’s name until closer to the festival dates.”
The jury members for this edition include Mexican producer Nicolas Celis, Iranian filmmaker Babak Jalali, film critic Jessica Kiang, and Czech director and actress Iryna Madlova.
Another film, “Cinema Island,” directed by Gözde Kural and a co-production of Turkey, Iran, Bulgaria, and Romania, will also be screened in the Crystal Globe competition section.
