The actor from The Studio will play Elon Musk in Luca Guadagnino’s film Artificial

According to CinemaDrame news agency, Aik Barineholtz, actor in the series The Studio, will portray Elon Musk in Amazon’s film Artificial, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Before him, Yura Borisov (Anora), Andrew Garfield (After the Hunt), and Cooper Cook (Monster on Netflix) had joined the cast.
The film’s story will focus on the firing and return of Sam Altman, CEO of the artificial intelligence company OpenAI. Simon Rich is the screenwriter and, along with David Heyman, Jeffrey Clifford, and Jennifer Fox, one of the project’s producers.
Musk, the world’s richest man and owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and X, co-founded OpenAI in 2015 with Sam Altman but left three years later. He has repeatedly criticized the company’s profit-driven structure and its ties to Microsoft, warning about the dangers of AI for humanity’s future. However, after acquiring Twitter and renaming it X, he integrated AI chatbots into the social network.
Barineholtz plays the manager of a fictional film studio opposite Seth Rogen in Apple TV+’s The Studio. The series recently broke the record for the most Emmy nominations for a new original comedy and will return for a second season.
Monica Barbaro is another actor currently in negotiations to join Artificial.
