The “Arghavan” Literary Award has issued a call for submissions.

The call for submissions for the seventh edition of the “Arghavan” Literary Award, with the theme “Suitcase,” was announced today, Saturday, December 23.
According to Cinemadrame, the Arghavan Literary Award is organized by the “Arghavan Haft Rang” Institute with the aim of discovering young talents and helping elevate them from amateur to professional level while promoting a culture of reading among young people under the age of 30 who have not yet published a book either individually or collectively.
The selection committee for this award consists of Fereshteh Ahmadi, Farhad Tavakkol, Mohammad Charmashir, Atieh Attarzadeh, and Alieh Attaie, and the jury members are Ahmad Pouri, Hossein Sanapor, and Leili Golestan.
The deadline for submissions, as in previous editions, is from December 23, 2024, to April 3, 2025. The age limit for participating in the competition is 30 years, and the awards ceremony will take place in June 2025, where the winners will be announced.
The prizes for this edition of the award are as follows:
Main Category Prizes
- The top 10 works will be published as a book by Nashr Markaz.
Jury’s Choice Award for First to Third Place
- The first place will receive a statue of the Arghavan Award, a certificate of appreciation, and a cash prize of 50 million rials.
- The second place will receive a certificate of appreciation and a cash prize of 30 million rials.
- The third place will receive a certificate of appreciation and a cash prize of 20 million rials.
Jury’s Top 10 Selected
- A certificate of appreciation and the publication of their work in a book.
Special Jury Award
- Participation in a creative writing workshop for the top 10 selected participants at the “In/Jaa” Cultural and Artistic Institute.
Short Story Competition Participation Conditions
- Short stories must be submitted in typed form in .doc, .docx, or .rtf formats via the Arghavan Award website.
- Completing the online registration form is mandatory.
- The word count of each short story should not exceed 3,000 words.
- Each author can only submit one work.
- Stories that plagiarize or use others’ works will be disqualified.
- Submissions should not have been awarded prizes in other competitions or been previously published.
- Stories should not be simultaneously submitted to other competitions.
- Participants must not have a published book in either short or long fiction, individually or as a group.
