The book “The Oscar Prize” has been published.

According to cinemadrame, quoting the public relations department of the Farabi Cinematic Foundation, as part of the series of books on governance and policy-making in cinema, the book “The Oscar Prize” and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from the perspective of governance and policy-making has been released to the market. This book aims to provide more details and introduce readers to the most prestigious cinematic award of the year.

In an excerpt from the book, written by Zeynab Ebrahimzadeh and supervised by Mohsen Bisadi, it states: “The Oscar can help bring attention to existing cinematic movements in the world and the United States (from European art cinema to cinemas of underdeveloped countries and ideologically driven cinemas like China), and it can also weaken or strengthen works in both American and global cinema.”

The book addresses topics such as biases, funding models, the role of the Oscar in the governance system of cinema, its positioning within the broader governance structure, founders and owners, organizational structure, awards, acceptance criteria for works, the Oscar from the perspective of statistics and figures, and organizational structure, over the course of nine chapters.

This 119-page book, published in 500 copies, also features subheadings like actors in the race for the Oscar, Oscar advertising revenue, voting methods, official and direct content interference, and economic biases.
