The deadline for the first National Children’s and Young Adult Book Festival has been extended.

According to cinemadrame, the deadline for submitting works to participate in the first National and International Children’s and Young Adult Book Festival has been extended until June 31, 2024.
For the first time, the National and International Children’s and Young Adult Book Festival will be held in three sections: preschool, children, and young adults. This festival will be organized nationally and internationally every other year.
Children’s and young adult books play a crucial role in the cultural and educational development of society. In addition to being tools for teaching and learning, they serve as a bridge for transferring values, beliefs, and the Iranian-Islamic lifestyle to future generations. These books can strengthen the cultural and social identity of children and adolescents and play an important role in their upbringing.
All publishers, writers, poets, researchers, and illustrators are invited to submit their works to the festival’s secretariat.
Festival Participation Conditions:
- Works must have been published in 2023.
- All works must have been published with official approval from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and registered in the Iranian Book and Literature House system.
- Each author/publisher is allowed to submit as many works as they have published during the festival’s timeframe.
- Works will be judged in categories including short stories, long stories and novels, poetry and literary prose, general works, research, and illustration.
The submitted works will be reviewed by the festival’s judges, and the best ones will be announced as winners in October 2024. In addition to a cash prize, winners will receive a commemorative plaque and the festival’s medal.
Important Notes:
- In the main section, works must be original and in Persian.
